Starting a bachelor’s is a big step, but the process doesn’t have to be confusing. The bachelor’s degree admission requirements at Florida Coastal University are practical and clear, so that you know exactly what to prepare for. Important information, such as official transcripts, minimum GPA, and the English proficiency level (if you are a non-native speaker), will be listed right away, with a clear plan of action towards applying to the program and enrolling in a college or university.

This blog will help explain what the university considers when reviewing your application, how the process will work, and what to expect when you studied outside of the U.S. It will also provide the schedule of stages: starting with the application and up to the decision and what should come next with your admission. If you prefer a checklist style, we’ve got that too, so you can meet undergraduate admission requirements without last-minute stress.

In short: everything you need to move confidently from interest to acceptance!

Who Can Apply: Eligibility

  • Completed high school or have other equivalent qualifications
  • Have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Send official transcripts from your school
  • In some cases, the team may schedule a brief visit (an admissions interview) to clarify fit and next steps

Documents Required

Get your documents together early so nothing holds you up:

  • Completed application form
  • Official high school transcripts
  • A short personal statement about your goals and why this program fits
  • (Optional) one or two letters of recommendation

English Proficiency (if it applies to you)

If English isn’t your first language, plan to meet one of these:

  • TOEFL iBT: 80
  • IELTS: 6.5
  • Duolingo: 100

In a few instances, a letter to confirm English-medium schooling or a short interview can be considered instead. This comes in handy if you are proficient in English but didn’t take a test.

If You Studied Outside the U.S.

You’ll need a credential evaluation from an approved service. This lets the university verify your level of study and any credits earned.

Steps to Follow for a Bachelor’s Degree Admission

  • Apply and upload all required documents.
  • Admissions review begins; you may be scheduled for a short interview.
  • The academic team makes a decision and notifies you.
  • If admitted, sign the Enrollment Agreement to reserve your seat.

Florida Coastal accepts applications year-round. You’ll start at the beginning of a new semester, so you can time your application to your schedule.

In case you are denied and you feel that something has been overlooked, you can file an appeal within a stipulated period as indicated in the determination email you received. A review will be conducted for your file again.
